Our Own Storyteller Tells A Story: Train Robbers and Other Tales.
Rotarian Prentiss Smith hosts our own champion storyteller, David Bagwell. A past Assistant District Governor and former President of the 300-member Mobile Rotary Club, Bagwell has entertained Point Clear members for years with his historically accurate and often extraordinary stories about local heroes, criminals, louts and other ne’er-do-wells from our area. An attorney, Bagwell’s professional credits are too numerous to mention here. His talk
was entitled “Historical Musings.”
His topic was a couple of South Alabama notorious train-robbers, one of whom was called “Railroad Bill”, and who was celebrated in song by Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Taj Mahal, among others.
